Effect of nutrient on growth and biochemical composition of Gloiopeltis furcata

  • To investigate the effect of nutrient addition on germination, growth and survival of Gloiopeltis furcata discs as well as the influence on growth and biochemical composition of G. furcata thalli, we incubated the discs and thalli of G. furcata with different concentrations of nutrient ( adding NaNO3 of 0 mgL-1 , 10 mgL-1 , 40 mgL-1 , 80 mgL-1, 10 mgL-1 , 40 mgL-1, 80 mgL-1 and corresponding K2HPO4 of 0 mgL-1 , 0 mgL-1 , 0 mgL-1 , 0 mgL-1 , 1 mgL-1 , 4 mgL- 1 , 8 mgL-1 ) . No significant difference was found in sprouting and survival rate of discs as well as the weight of thalli between groups added with nutritional salt and the control, but the contents of chlorophyll and phycobiliprotein of thalli in groups added with NaNO3 of 40 ~80 mgL-1 were significantly higher than that in the control ( P 0. 05) . It is showed that it needs not add nutritional salt for incubation of G. furcata discs but it needs add NaNO3 of 10 ~40 mgL-1and K2HPO4 of 4 mgL-1 for incubation of G. furcata thalli.
