Numerical simulation of dynamic process of cylinder nets in current

  • Cylinder net, an important component of deep-water net cage, is the most complex loading part in a cage system. Based on lumped mass method and previous test results, the paper introduces and verifies a numerical model of cylinder net in current. Under 2 weight modes (GW1=400 kg, GW2=800 kg) and 4 current velocities (U=0.3~0.6 ms-1), we simulated the drag force, dynamic deformation and movement displacement of cylinder net along withtime by using the numerical model to reveal the dynamic variation rule of cylinder net in current, and to analyze the effects of weight and current velocity on the drag force, deformation and movement of the net.
