HPLC-MS/MS determination of zeranols residues in aquatic products

  • We developed a method for determining zeranols residues such as -zearalanol, -zearalanol, -zearalenol, -zearalenol, zearalanone and zearalenone by high performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS/MS).The samples were extracted with acetonitrile, degreased with hexane and purified with amino solid-phase extraction column. In addition, with electrospray ionization in negative mode, we monitored the samples with selected reaction monitoring (SRM) and quantified them cation with external standard method. For the6 zeranols, it shows good linear regression coeffcient in the standard curve (all 0.99); the linear range is 0~25 gkg-1; the limit of detection is 1.0 gkg-1; the average recovery is75.9%~103.8%, and the relative standard deviation is 3.90 %~13.5 %. The method, which is simple, sensitive and reliable, can be used to identify and quantify zeranols residues in aquatic products.
